In the midst of the digital cacophony, my visual storytelling adopts a serene tone, urging you to pause, reflect, and draw nearer.
My trusted Hasselblad has bestowed me with some of my favourite images in my portfolio. This analog camera allows both the subject and I to slow down. The results are quiet moments that I find speak volumes.
Leo
Leo lived in a friends estate garden house. He had moved in there at an older age after his wife had passed away and lived there until the end of his life. My friend and him built a sweet friendship over time. Leo travelled a lot in his younger years and brought home all sorts of items which he proudly displayed. He also had two suits for special occasions I can't remember if he displayed them to show me or that is where he kept them. He was proud to live on his own and not in a retirement home. But he struggled keeping the place clean. I remember many dusty cobwebs up by the ceilings. We are all curators of our own lives. We collect, display, and arrange - not just objects, but memories. Leo’s space was a quiet museum of a life well-traveled and deeply felt. His two suits. His treasures. The cobwebs in the corner. All of it told a story.
